Avenged Sevenfold Tomorrow!!

quick blog entry before i start getting all my stuff together to get on the road! will be seeing my fave band Avenged Sevenfold tomorrow in Fort Wayne IN along with Hollywood Undead who i also became a fan of after seeing them with A7X on the Nightmare After Christmas tour. i'll be getting into Indy tonight staying with some of my concert Family, Laura, Linc & Tristan :):) these guys have been amazing to me over the years after i met them at a Papa Roach show and it never feels like a show without them. some more of the concert Fam will be meeting there too and we're all heading to the venue tomorrow super early like always ;)

i am prone to making my own outfits for shows but my printer is broken and i didn't really have the time so this was my way of filling the void i guess :p

also can't hit a winter show without these

tip to other mini skirt enthusiast: tights and leg warmers are your friends ;) i've hit many a winter show in skirts that leave little to the imagination, waited in line for hours sometimes even in the snow, and escaped without frostbite (though i'm cheating a bit this with shorts under the skirt :p)

so i hope to see anyone else who's going tomorrow at the show! come up and say hi if you see me :) i love meeting other fans.

some better pics of my hair

want to take a moment to give a little bit of info on the the longer dreads i'm wearing. they are called Elysee Star Dreads and i get them from www.afrocare.com. they were actually my first experience with synthetic dreads (started wearing them right when i got out of high school) and are slightly different than the norm when it comes to the dreads you see around. the main way they differ is you can only buy them in one size..long :p i think this was actually what made me stray away from them but is actually ideal now that i'm wearing a longer style. they are also a lot thinner than the normal dread and don't really taper as much. they also shed like crazy which you don't really find with the custom dreads you get in dread falls and the like. but now that i've had them in for awhile it's not much of a problem.

some great things about these dreads are 1) the price: even with the international shipping you'll end up paying less than when ordering custom dreads. 2) they have a pretty wide range of color options and some pretty crazy mixes, some even glow in the dark. and 3) again even considering the international shipping you are likely to get these faster than custom orders. lots of the shops out there making dreads have somewhat long turn around times and i doubt you'll wait longer than two weeks (how long they took to get to me) for these. i'll definitely be ordering these more often for all the reasons stated, already have some light pink ones on the way ^-^

i am also still wearing the dreads i got from HairAndStuff.com too, by far my fave store to get custom dreads from. i've ordered from lots of different places over the years and these are the best quality and best looking i've ever had. AND they last ;)

hope this answers some of the questions out there (i've gotten so many :p), i will try and do a more informative blog like this about the loose extensions soon!

picked up a few cute items yesterday for Black Friday XD since i'll be moving soon i'm more about getting rid of some stuff rather than accumulating more *but* figured i'd snag a few things for myself on the biggest shopping day of the year

the Hello Kitty stuff & Monster High compact is from Claire's and the mug from Barnes & Noble Starbucks

and i got this school girlish dress from Hot Topic

and of course i have to mention my new best friend ^-^ although it wasn't on sale for Black Friday, i got a pretty sweet deal on it for signing a new contract with my provider

the best investment i've ever made and obviously i'm having a ball with the camera, filters, and Apps. think it's safe to say you can expect a lot of interesting pics coming from this ;)

So I was going to post some of my Black Friday purchases but my Internet is down :p luckily I just upgraded to an iPhone so i'll never have to worry about missing a day in my 365day challange! Better post coming tomorrow ;)

as mentioned on my twitter today i went spelunking through the massive amounts of clothing i have stashed at my parents old house. i'm not even sure how they haven't been hanging in my closet the past few years :p i have limited space and the last time i moved i pretty much just grabbed all my VU gear, most of my skirts, some fave hoodies and left the rest behind. i went in search of this awesome Sonic Hoodie

won it off Ebay years ago, not totally positive but i think it was reconstructed by Poppys Wicked Garden. definitely one of my faves :)

and look at all the great tops i found

there's lots more not pictured including the bag i still have in my car and all the items i'll be going back for when i have more time. i also grabbed stuff that i no longer want that i will be selling before the year is over (i know i've said this several times before :p but this time it's kind of now or never). so keep an eye out, i'll probably just post them here on the blog!

a few new zipper pulls and i'll be making some new Rave Bangle sets later tonight. i will hopefully be getting a new phone later this week, possibly an iPhone thanks to the discount i get from Sprint when i sign a new contract :):) which i REALLY need mainly for the better camera (as you can see mine sucks now).

if i get done with jewelry work tonight i'll be taking some proper pics of the new hair tomorrow. stay tuned ;)

i had a fantastic time at the shoot today with Mary of Acrylicana and the photographer Ka Xiong! not only did i get to model a bunch of cute shoes but they also had me jumping on trampolines and rolling around in skates :) lots of fun. and they were both a pleasure to work with, hope i have the chance to do so again. will definitely share the pics here as soon as i can.


i'll for sure be making an effort to book more gigs, i throughly enjoy it and it's a nice change from self portraiture. 

so tomorrow i'll be heading to Detroit to do a photo shoot for Acrylicana! pretty excited, i love her illustrations and jewelry and i think it'll be a really fun collaboration. would love to show you the suitcase of outfits i'm packing but i think it's better left a surprise ;) will definitely be posting all about the experience when i get back.

i'm really almost done, only have a small amount of loose extensions and the rest of the dreads which won't take long at all if they ever arrive :p obviously cutting my bangs at some point too ;) but i kinda like them as they are.

one of my goals with this blog is to feature post on a semi regular basis that cover my outfits and clothing. since i'm still new to the daily blogging thing (and i'm pressed for time this week) i'll be doing a bit of post and run :p but in the future i hope to post better photos and a more informative blog on where i acquired what i'm wearing and what motivates my style.

but for now here's a quick pic i took the morning after my Friday night out ;)

Friday Night

i can already tell tonight's gonna be awesome :):) i'll be going home bar wise to see some of the local DJs spin at the spot i used to frequent every weekend, Ouzos

a few years ago this bar was THE place to check out all the local DJs in Kzoo. and every now and then we'd get some bigger names roll through, either way it was always a good time. my best friend also lived close by and we used to have all the after parties at his house. it got so big once we had two different parties going at the same time and the cops busted it :p those were seriously the days ;) will be meeting up with the crew for some pre drinking then getting down to some amazing house music

been having a lot of interruptions so i've been moving pretty slow and also still don't have the new dreads but i'm determined to have it done in time.

i'll possibly have photos from tonight to post. the last two times bringing my camera out has royal fucked it up :p so i'm a bit hesitant but we'll see.

and so it begins, the first snowfall of the year 

yes snow can be nice to look at and it's great for Christmas but winters are *brutal* in Kalamazoo. we get hit worse than most due to lake effect snow, then throw in a car with a broken defrost and windows and doors that freeze shut and it's hell :p hoping to be out of the area before the heavy stuff hits

as mentioned i'll be redoing my hair the next couple of weeks. for those who don't know i wear braided in synthetic extensions, both loose hair and synthetic dreads. i do it all myself so the process can take from a few weeks to a month depending on the style and number of colors i'm working with.

i use Shape Shifters Synthetic Extensions and i'm using two different pinks,  Raspberry Crush & Bubblegum (photos from ikickshins.net )

really loving the contrast. i'm under the gun to get this done before a photo shoot i have coming up on the 19th. and also have to take a break next week while i attend a Hollywood Undead concert ;) but i'll be putting more dreads in this time (which are in the mail on the way, will blog more about those when they arrive) so i should have it all installed in time. getting back to it now, i'll try and post progress daily.
