got my ass into gear today and finally dropped my resume off at a few places, it went better than i had expected. first when i got down there the place i'd seen weeks earlier with 'Help Wanted' signs had of course taken them down (i wait way too long :p) not to mention i was feeling crippling social anxiety (something i don't post much about) so i was hesitant going into anywhere. but just like last time, after making myself stop in one store it was a lot easier to stop in a few more after that. even filled out an application at one place. but basically most places said they won't be hiring till summer (heads up to anyone else looking) and to try back in about a month and a half :p so keeping my fingers crossed and planning on hitting more locations later this week.

i listened to City Of Evil for the first time in awhile today and it immediately shot me back to when i first started listening to A7X. how awesome it was when i started going to all the shows, how fun it was when they used to play songs like Burn It Down and Trashed and Scattered live. there's just a certain feeling that goes with that entire album for me since that's the album i discovered Avenged on and it not only makes me think of the band, but of all the other stuff that was going on in my life at that time. was really nice to get back in touch with that :)

i want them to tour, i can't wait for the new album :p i know it's still probably pretty far off but i'm ready.

as of yesterday, i've been living in San Francisco exactly a year! woohoo, i'm really happy i've made it this long and am somewhat on the path of really getting settled here. it takes me a real long time to feel comfortable anywhere so i'm definitely still in transition. it's probably more common to have a post filled with all the noteworthy stuff that's happened the last 365 days, but if you haven't noticed i'm a girl of few words. i'd rather let a photo do the talking :) i've snapped pics all over the past year i've been here and posted very few. but i really love the way this city looks, it definitely has a spooky atmosphere to it and, as part of my Wickedland Photography project, i've been capturing all the places that jump out to me.

this is definitely my favorite photo thus far, i took it on Haight St. earlier this month (sorry if you've already seen this on my Instagram account)

i'm really in love with old looking houses, especially ones that look creepy and haunted. lots of the house around here have a historic kind of charm to them so expect more photos along these lines. and i'll be editing and posting more from earlier last year as well soon.

also completely random fact that has nothing to do with the above, i had 666 views on this blog last month...just thought i'd share ;)

so i'm feeling better today although not 100%. have a headache that comes and goes and barely any appetite but at least i'm up and moving around. so i went to the craft store and bought a whole bunch of arbitrary jewelry supplies (kind of like my last trip to the Fabric store) in hopes i'll get inspiration in bringing something brand new to my store. i'm really actually quite happy with the stuff i've been making lately but business is soooooo slow. it's depressing and frustrating and i just want to shake things up. also still interested in cross promoting if any other shops out there are interested.

also still finishing up new items (being sick set me back a bit) so those will be listed within the next few days.

W E I G H T L O S S

so i've been thinking about doing this for awhile, and even though i'm still apprehensive :p here it is, some before and after shots of weight loss since i moved to San Francisco. i know these pics are really horrible (especially the before) and even hard to see any difference because they are taken completely different ways but it's the best i can do. my only real reason for posting these is for motivation on my part, i'm hoping that the idea of chronicling my weight loss on this blog will give me more of a push to actually workout. and maybe in a few weeks or months i'll have some new (and way better looking) before and after shots. or if i'm actually keeping up with working out regularly more of a biweekly progress post :) we'll see

pics on the left were taken 7/2011 and the ones on the right a couple of days ago. most of the weight loss came from the fact that i walk everywhere now and also because i don't eat fast food anymore. don't get me wrong, i eat tons of french fries and pizza still but not McDonalds type quality and i think that's helped a lot. i'm not even really looking to lose anymore weight, really just tone up and get in better shape.

woohoo, it's time for another new season of my second favorite show on television, Shameless! if you're not watching this show you should be, there's nothing else like out there and the cast is amazing together. love this new promo shot, especially Noel Fisher creeping in the back ^-^ hope there's a lot more Mickey and Ian than last season.

youtube has proven itself to be the best place on the internet by letting me get in touch with a movie i watched every Halloween when i was a kid, Mr. Boogedy. as 80s kids movies go this one was definitely bordering on the "too creepy for kids" while still being immensely cheesy and slightly hilarious. but no denying it is a decent little ghost story, even now watching it in the dark some parts freaked me out a bit :p it's short so i suggest giving it a watch, you can find the whole movie on YouTube

(also worth mentioning it's one of  Kristy Swanson's earliest rolls)

N A I L W O R K

Finally had a chance to do my nails today, never seem to have the time anymore. Even though I used mainly Sally Hansen my brand of choice is definitely China Glaze, it just goes on so much smoother. I'm seriously fond of the Hard As Nails color but it just doesn't finish well (but hey it was only $1-$3). I added a layer of the Diamond Strength which helped a lot but I think I need to invest in the Hard As Nails shade in a different brand. I'm also in the market for a Satin Finish topcoat as I'm just not feeling the super glossy types anymore, anyone have any recommendations?

Not much to blog today, just lots of chores being done :p cleaning room, doing laundry. You know, the exciting things in life ;)

here i'm modeling the newest WOLF CRAFT Bracelets and also a new necklace i'll be adding to my store tomorrow

and can i just mention that the eyeshadow i'm wearing is super cheap and by wet n wild. it goes on darker and thicker than any of the expensive brands i own and that's without a primer. you would need one to wear it out and about and in the club as it easily smears but it's amazing for the price.

true to form i'm posting this blog horribly late, such is the nature of an avid procrastinator like myself :p but better late than never so here finally is my Halloween blog for 2012. let me start off by saying that i really enjoyed my first Halloween in San Francisco! it seemed like almost every establishment was is the holiday spirit and i couldn't walk by a place without seeing at least a pumpkin in the window if not some type of elaborate decoration. Halloween seems to be so easily passed over so it really makes my day to see places making an effort, especially all the bars i hit after working the long holiday hours. drinking a pumpkin beer while you're surrounded by fake spiderwebs and severed body parts is much more enjoyable in my opinion ^-^

if you follow my other accounts you've probably already seen some photos of my costume, i went as a Silent Hill Nurse. not necessarily a faithful execution, my costume was more just influenced by the character but i'm really happy with how it came out especially considering i ended up having to throw it together the night before Halloween.

i used lots of different fake blood including a cheap tube i picked up at Party City to cover my outfit. but the majority of the kind i used on my face (and my favorite) is the Dark Blood by Ben Nye. it gives a more aged grotesque look which i prefer when i'm doing zombie type stuff even though it's not the most comfortable to wear :p it doesn't dry just gets sticky and gross (but i guess thats true of real blood as well so it's pretty authentic ;) here are some pics i snapped with my phone   

and of course everyone else at the costume shop had rad costumes for Halloween too

and even though i said i wouldn't i hit the bar with some of the girls above and had a crazy fun time :) one beer turned in to three or four and these were the only pics that survived the drunken night

and since Halloween was during the week this year the weekend before was a huge party night too so me and one of my roommates went out then as well. he pretty much just went as himself ^-^ but i went as GoGo Yubari from Kill Bill. lots of peeps seemed to love this costume, it even got us free entrance into one of the clubs we hit! 

we ended up spending most of our night at this awesome club called Public Works. out of the few places i've partied out here this club is definitely one of my faves. it always has amazing DJs and the atmosphere is great too. the flyer for the party was badass

and i didn't find out about it till a few days before and was really worried about getting in. but the night of we decided to try our luck, we jumped the huge line that was wrapping around the building and found a line for people paying cash that was only a few people deep! we got really lucky and partied all night long, it was pretty much the one party i went to to celebrate my birthday so i was super happy about it.

i also snapped the cool costumes i saw out along the way that night. again it was all done with my phone so not the best quality. next year i think i'll bring out my real camera

these girls had actually just been in the costume shop and i helped them with their choices ^-^ it was really cool to see customers having a good time in our costumes. 

it also made this Halloween awesome by giving me the chance to dress up almost every day in October and really just make the fact that it's over not as bad since i can dress up at work all year long now :) so i hope you enjoyed my Halloween post! like i said next year i'll make a point to take better pics and of course try and not post it after the New Year.

so i reeeeally want to goto this

it's about an hour and a half away from me, would be fairly easy and affordable to get to, and i probably wouldn't need a hotel. it just sucks i'm only now finding out about it and have less than a week to try and make plans. i'm thinking i probably won't be able to find someone to roll with me or meet up with and not sure if i'll be working or not. totally my fault as i haven't been on top of keeping up with concert dates since the lack of shows out here. if i'd known about it earlier i'm sure i'd already have my tickets bought and be counting down the days like always :p

there's also a Papa Roach show in LA in February that i may possibly be able to make it to but that's up in the air as well. crossing my fingers for at least one. definitely hoping more shows come closer to my area but thats the way it's always been ;) i'll always be down to travel for a good show though and i'm ready to get familiar with the trains and buses to get me where i'm going from now on. seems like more of an adventure that way.
