what's a good workout to do at home? i've got a photo shoot coming up in a couple months and i seriously need to get in shape. walking instead of driving has been a good change but i had access to a treadmill & elliptical back in MI. right now all i have are these :p

along with Winsor Pilates but i don't even have a mat and it's been so long since i've done the Ballet DVD it'll probably take me forever to relearn and have very little effect. wish i still had theFIRM, those videos kicked my ass back in the day :)

no big updates tonight :p just packing up jewelry orders to ship out tomorrow. also working on some new items for the store. pretty much what i'll be doing all week along with sneaking in some time for hair pics ;) and in a couple weeks or so i'll be looking for another job as well. hopefully i can find something cool or fun but really i need something with a flexible schedule so i still have time to work on my jewelry and pursue some more modeling gigs. wish me luck, i've worked from home for years now so it's definitely going to be a huge change.

posted this on my FB not too long ago but thought i'd post it on my blog as well :) this is me modeling for Doctored Locks, the site i get pretty much all my extensions from! was very excited when they asked me to send in pics ^-^ i'll also be doing some guest blogging for them in the near future.

so here is the hair progress so far. i'm actually almost all done with the front and should get most of the loose extensions finished today. ended up using all three pinks too ^-^ after that i can pretty much get all the dreads installed in one day so this'll probably be the fastest i've ever finished my hair.

new pics to follow immediately after as i'm anxious to see what they'll look like with the great lighting in this room, also can't wait to take some in front of the blue walls :p

as mentioned on twitter earlier today, i got word from Kalamazoo that one of my very talented friends Short-e painted a picture of me. it's actually apart of her thesis art exhibit and is currently on display in Kalamazoo along side her other great work, but she gave me permission to post it here too :)

it's titled 'Beat Freak' and if you want to check it out visit this link to get all the info on the event. it's up all week and there will be DJs and dancing! also it will be on sale after the exhibit is over.

i also have to mention that Short-e is one of the most inspiring people you will ever meet. she has limited use of her hands so she does almost everything with her mouth. writes, paints,..even DJs :) in fact i'll never forget the first time i met her. i was on the way to my second rave ever, me and my friends were walking around lost, she and her friends were on the sidewalk and could instantly tell we were looking for the party :p they gave us directions and we later saw her there and partied all night. as long as i've been raving she has pretty much been at every party just like me ;) not to mention she's a great DJ too. we ironically were in the same painting class as well when i was in school back in the day.

this is definitely something i wish i could've attended. it really seemed like right when i was leaving Kzoo all these things were popping up that i wished i could partake in (while living there it was not like that at all of course)...i guess that's how it is sometimes. but it really means a lot to have a friend portray me like this and is kind of the perfect sendoff ^-^

tonight we went to Flax, the closest art supply store to our house. mainly they sell all you'll ever need for painting & drawing but also had some of the supplies i use regularly. it's definitely going to be a challenge not having a Hobby Lobby anywhere near to me :p but i'll be saved by online shopping not mention i want to expand the types of materials i use. hopefully i'll come across lots of new things to incorporate in my work.

so i have to say my first week in San Francisco has gone pretty smoothly. got all my stuff without incident, have great roommates who showed me around and helped get me adjusted, and pretty much have all i need in my room. the only thing i'm missing is a comforter, ordered this one today ^-^

i've mentioned repeatedly how i want to do a graveyard theme and i think the black & grey combo is a great way to get that started. i do have bright pink polka dot sheets ATM (which i love) but down the line i hope to find some more horror type or slightly gothic ones. and i only have one gravestone but plan on obtaining more around Halloween time ;)

i also have to mention that the free cable we get here **suuucks**, if you've followed me for awhile you know what a challenge this is for me :p i'm sure it goes without saying i'll be taking care of that as soon as i can, hehe.

today was slightly more eventful as me and some of my roommates took off in the chilly weather to visit Haight St. for lunch and some shopping. two things i forgot about from my short visit to San Francisco in 2010 1) it gets pretty cold here sometimes which i actually prefer as i still get to live in my hoodies for the moment ^-^ and 2) it is really hard to walk uphill if you're not used to it :p i'm terribly out of shape so my legs were screaming only 5minutes into the journey. but i do enjoy having almost everything in walking distance and i hope all the foot traffic will counter out all the good food i've been eating. snapped a few pics with my iPhone on the way. really wish i would've got some of all the awesome stores that exist in that area but i was too busy taking it all in by that point ;)

also got this skirt and bracelet from a stripper store i went to the first time i was here and had totally regretted not having enough money to buy everything i wanted :p came across a few more stores that will surely help me go broke if i'm not careful, hehe.

tomorrow i'll probably spend most of the day waiting for all my boxes to arrive but we're finally supposed to go clubbing at night. definitely ready to get my drink on in Cali.

my laptop set up on my suitcase because that's all i have at the moment :p just some clothes and other necessities. boxes are supposed to arrive friday and i'm hoping to get a bed sorted tomorrow. but even though i'll be without all my stuff for awhile it just feels good to be here. went out for pizza with my new roommates and played crazy Wii games :) now unpacking while watching SVU on my computer, love that they have full episodes on their website ^-^ will hopefully get a TV asap and then i'll really be feeling at home ;)

so now that i'm all done packing and my boxes are on their way to Cali. i've got my plane ticket booked & i'm pretty much just chilling in Kzoo until my flight, the one thing i still need is a bed :p very essential item i should've taken care of weeks ago but i'm the worlds best procrastinator. so i've spent all night searching sites and local places in San Francisco that can pretty much deliver a bed (well really just a mattress for now as all i need is something to sleep on) the same day...and i actually found one :) so hopefully i'll get that all sorted tomorrow and be totally set for my move ^-^ so excited to finally get out of here and to be with some of my best friends again.

a while back my friends in Cali sent me pics of what my room looks like in San Francisco and i promised to post them so here they are :)

i'm in love with it already :p (i've always wanted hardwood floors). if you haven't heard the story yet i'll be moving to San Francisco by the end of the month. a bunch of my friends moved out to California about 5-6 years ago and it had always been my intention to join them. but a lot of stuff came up over the years and kept getting in the way. now they have a house out in San Fran and offered me a room in it, of course i said hell yes ;) it's been a dream of mine for so long now so i'm really excited it's finally happening.

i had planned to leave on the 12th but i've had trouble finding a moving company so i had to push the date back a bit. i'm actually just now starting to pack tonight :p planning to contact as many companies as i can tomorrow so hopefully i'll have it all worked out and i'll be on my way soon!

if you've been following my Twitter for awhile you probably already know i have a huge thing for Vincent D'Onofrio :p so imagine my surprise when i found out he had written and directed a horror flick!

this movie, which he calls a 'slasher musical' is about a band who journeys into the woods to write new music and make it big without the distractions of drugs, alcohol, or woman. i watched this film today, and being a huge horror movie fan i was definitely skeptical about the musical aspect of things. but i was pleasantly surprised with how much i enjoyed it. not only was there a really nice amount of blood and gory scenes, but the band is filled with young attractive rockers who were all extremely talented. the type of music not usually my taste but i found myself really impressed by all the musical numbers. and they were placed throughout the flick so well surround by this wonderfully bizarre storyline. it also has a pretty great ending which, in my opinion, is the most important part of a horror movie. everything about it was just right up my ally, i loved it :) i suggest any horror and music fan check it out, definitely an entertaining watch. you can find it now onDemand.

GIG BLOG: Buried Alive Tour

as some of you may know, the Buried Alive Tour in Fort Wayne, IN may very well be my last concert around this area for awhile so i was even more excited than usual to hook up with my concert friends and hit the show. i've blogged many times over the years about how many amazing people i've met at both Avenged and Papa Roach concerts and have definitely made a tight group of friends that i always roll to the shows with. i was lucky enough to have most of those people there last week while we invaded the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum to see Avenged Sevenfold and Hollywood Undead. we all met up at Laura's house the morning of (i tried to make it the night before but got cut off by a flash snow storm :p) and made our way to the venue around noon to wait in line.

somehow i neglected to get pics of all of us together (of course) but i did get a few, some with other friends that we always see at shows. here they are along with our view from the line

Bethy, Ashlee, and me ran by Wal*Mart before the show and got these camo sunglasses. we've been told Johnny Christ was rocking the same frames but i totally missed it :p (also me and Bethy are both wearing Medic BEAR ^-^)

this was like take three of a Vengenz group shot i was trying to get :p my camera was acting funny all night and this was the only one that came out

and me with Siarra and Lary who i also met at A7X shows (he gets noticed for his hair more than i do :)

we all pretty much had VIP and the entrance to the venue was indoors so we didn't have to freeze our asses off in line after all ;) it went by pretty quickly and we got into the venue around 5. we all made it to the barricade and i was even able to get drinks and food for all us at the front and still get my spot. the show opened with Black Veil Brides who i'd seen at Rock On The Range earlier this year. i hear a lot of people talk badly about these guys but i like them. i'm actually a fan of the look and their music stands out to me more than other bands similar to them. may even pick up an album ;) they definitely set the show off. the next band, Asking Alexandria, however i didn't really care for. the whole performance was kind of forgettable.

but it's true that i was very anxious for the next act, Hollywood Undead, so i'm sure i was eager for the second band to get off stage. i became a huge fan of these guys after the Nightmare After Christmas Tour earlier this year. i have in fact had American Tragedy in my player ever since i got it at ROTR in May so i went crazy as soon as they hit the stage. HU's live show can never disappoint, i've said it before but there's no denying it's like one big party. and even in the cramped confines of the front row you can't help but dance ^-^ as i mentioned my camera was not on point at all but i got a few shots

i am aiming to finally make it to a show that they're headlining, the sets always seem too short and i would love to show my support at one of their shows. we had a really cool bouncer in front of us who gave us tons of stuff :):) i got a setlist

even though it'd be nice if they had played longer of course i was ready for A7X to come out :) it wasn't a long wait but i was dying a little in the mosh pit and since i'm pretty sure this is going to be the last tour for awhile i couldn't wait for the show to start. and start it did ;) this was definitely one of the more eventful shows i've been to. from people throwing man thongs on stage, to Matt looking down the shirt of one of the girls next to me, to the really really great song line up. but the most amazing thing that happened was definitely when they let a fan come on stage and play So Far Away. i was pretty much in awe, not only at the fact that it happened but at how talented the guy was too. i totally got a video of it but the video function on my camera is awful...beyond awful. i'm pretty sure i am not going to post it :( a few people have asked but i wasn't even in focus so it's not a very good watch either :p but i did get a few decent pics!

after i filmed the vid my battery started flashing so these were mostly taken just in the nick of time :p i also wanted to change it up a bit so i went with black & white this time which i kind of like how they turned out. right at the end of the night i got pointed out by both Syn & Matt (which will never cease to make me smile and jump around like a giddy school girl :p) and also got picks from Syn, and Arin :) ZV threw me a pick but our bouncer failed us this time and i didn't get it but right after the show Cassie found me and gave me one of hers ^-^ so a big thank you to her for that. definitely compels me to do the same as i've collected a lot over the years. but that one is staying with me as it'll be a great reminder of my last show living in this area.

after the show we of course go straight to the buses but it was freezing and we'd heard all night that some of the bands were going to the strip club right next to the venue. so some of the underaged people with us left and me & Laura went to the club. pretty much right after we get our drinks and sit down they start playing an A7X song and i look to my left only to see Johnny Christ walk through the door! he was surrounded by a bunch of people including some huge bodyguards but i somehow make it over and ask him for a pic

then i ask if i can buy him a shot :p he says "no you can't do that, what do you drink?" i of course say Jack Daniel's. two shots of JD appear kind of out of nowhere and i proceed to do a shot with Johnny Christ ^-^ it was definitely very awesome. i chat with him for a bit longer then escape because as always i get really nervous around bands. a bit later we see Danny and JDog from HU and my camera hangs in long enough to get one with them as well

i ask Danny about the American Tragedy Redux album and about what kind of sound it has. i mention that i'm a raver and he says "oh then you're going to LOVE it!" so i'm definitely going to pick that up. not too much later Siarra and Lary joined our table, they have been to TONS of A7X/HU shows so the HU guys know them really well. i was still a little shocked when Johnny 3 Tears came and sat down at our table too :):) and i must of been a *little* drunk because i was not apprehensive at all about sitting on his lap ;)

i did buy us a couple of shots (crown royal) and i have to mention that one of the BVB members was at the bar and he said he liked my furry boots ^-^ i love their style so that definitely made me happy. after that we stayed until the club closed, i befriended some of the strippers, then we hit iHop where we ran into some other fans from the show! and i love that :) you hit a bar, or restaurant, or hotel near the venue and you almost always run into people from the show, and make friends. they joined or table and we all chatted and didn't leave iHop till around 4am.

soooooo that is pretty much it! i just have to say that the past few years hitting shows around here have absolutely been the best years on my life. no lie. and i am actually really sad to have to leave all these people behind. even if i make new friends and have new experience at the shows out in Cali it will definitely never be the same. so a really REALLY big thank you to all the people who i've met the past few years at A7X and PRoach shows. you know who you are and i love you guys foREVer and i'm really going to miss all of you.

today is one of those days that i'm at a loss at what to post :p i am not tackling the gig blog yet as my shoulder is still a little messed up and instead of resting it i've spent all day updating my shop. so editing more pics is definitely out of the question. will have to start in on that tomorrow if i'm feeling better (and for the recored i absolutely refuse to get it looked at by a Dr. until it's totally necessary ;). will probably just chill and enjoy the rest of Harry Potter Weekend on ABC family ^-^

why not run by my shop and pick up one of the new items listed! more on they way soon, trying to get the store packed before i move.

Avenged Sevenfold Tomorrow!!

quick blog entry before i start getting all my stuff together to get on the road! will be seeing my fave band Avenged Sevenfold tomorrow in Fort Wayne IN along with Hollywood Undead who i also became a fan of after seeing them with A7X on the Nightmare After Christmas tour. i'll be getting into Indy tonight staying with some of my concert Family, Laura, Linc & Tristan :):) these guys have been amazing to me over the years after i met them at a Papa Roach show and it never feels like a show without them. some more of the concert Fam will be meeting there too and we're all heading to the venue tomorrow super early like always ;)

i am prone to making my own outfits for shows but my printer is broken and i didn't really have the time so this was my way of filling the void i guess :p

also can't hit a winter show without these

tip to other mini skirt enthusiast: tights and leg warmers are your friends ;) i've hit many a winter show in skirts that leave little to the imagination, waited in line for hours sometimes even in the snow, and escaped without frostbite (though i'm cheating a bit this with shorts under the skirt :p)

so i hope to see anyone else who's going tomorrow at the show! come up and say hi if you see me :) i love meeting other fans.

some better pics of my hair

want to take a moment to give a little bit of info on the the longer dreads i'm wearing. they are called Elysee Star Dreads and i get them from www.afrocare.com. they were actually my first experience with synthetic dreads (started wearing them right when i got out of high school) and are slightly different than the norm when it comes to the dreads you see around. the main way they differ is you can only buy them in one size..long :p i think this was actually what made me stray away from them but is actually ideal now that i'm wearing a longer style. they are also a lot thinner than the normal dread and don't really taper as much. they also shed like crazy which you don't really find with the custom dreads you get in dread falls and the like. but now that i've had them in for awhile it's not much of a problem.

some great things about these dreads are 1) the price: even with the international shipping you'll end up paying less than when ordering custom dreads. 2) they have a pretty wide range of color options and some pretty crazy mixes, some even glow in the dark. and 3) again even considering the international shipping you are likely to get these faster than custom orders. lots of the shops out there making dreads have somewhat long turn around times and i doubt you'll wait longer than two weeks (how long they took to get to me) for these. i'll definitely be ordering these more often for all the reasons stated, already have some light pink ones on the way ^-^

i am also still wearing the dreads i got from HairAndStuff.com too, by far my fave store to get custom dreads from. i've ordered from lots of different places over the years and these are the best quality and best looking i've ever had. AND they last ;)

hope this answers some of the questions out there (i've gotten so many :p), i will try and do a more informative blog like this about the loose extensions soon!

picked up a few cute items yesterday for Black Friday XD since i'll be moving soon i'm more about getting rid of some stuff rather than accumulating more *but* figured i'd snag a few things for myself on the biggest shopping day of the year

the Hello Kitty stuff & Monster High compact is from Claire's and the mug from Barnes & Noble Starbucks

and i got this school girlish dress from Hot Topic

and of course i have to mention my new best friend ^-^ although it wasn't on sale for Black Friday, i got a pretty sweet deal on it for signing a new contract with my provider

the best investment i've ever made and obviously i'm having a ball with the camera, filters, and Apps. think it's safe to say you can expect a lot of interesting pics coming from this ;)

as mentioned on my twitter today i went spelunking through the massive amounts of clothing i have stashed at my parents old house. i'm not even sure how they haven't been hanging in my closet the past few years :p i have limited space and the last time i moved i pretty much just grabbed all my VU gear, most of my skirts, some fave hoodies and left the rest behind. i went in search of this awesome Sonic Hoodie

won it off Ebay years ago, not totally positive but i think it was reconstructed by Poppys Wicked Garden. definitely one of my faves :)

and look at all the great tops i found

there's lots more not pictured including the bag i still have in my car and all the items i'll be going back for when i have more time. i also grabbed stuff that i no longer want that i will be selling before the year is over (i know i've said this several times before :p but this time it's kind of now or never). so keep an eye out, i'll probably just post them here on the blog!

a few new zipper pulls and i'll be making some new Rave Bangle sets later tonight. i will hopefully be getting a new phone later this week, possibly an iPhone thanks to the discount i get from Sprint when i sign a new contract :):) which i REALLY need mainly for the better camera (as you can see mine sucks now).

i had a fantastic time at the shoot today with Mary of Acrylicana and the photographer Ka Xiong! not only did i get to model a bunch of cute shoes but they also had me jumping on trampolines and rolling around in skates :) lots of fun. and they were both a pleasure to work with, hope i have the chance to do so again. will definitely share the pics here as soon as i can.

i'll for sure be making an effort to book more gigs, i throughly enjoy it and it's a nice change from self portraiture.
